Call for Papers
The Urban Heat Series
The Journal of Trees for Climate Adaptation (JTCA) invites high-quality submissions for its Urban Heat Series, a thematic collection examining the interactions between urban heat dynamics, tree cover, and climate adaptation in rapidly evolving cities.
Urban heat intensification is now a critical challenge for planners, policymakers, and researchers. As natural cover decreases and impervious surfaces expand, temperature extremes rise, often disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities. Trees and green infrastructure represent an important and scalable component of climate adaptation, yet empirical evidence remains limited in many regions, particularly across the Global South.
This series seeks to bring together rigorous, interdisciplinary research that advances understanding of these issues and supports evidence-based adaptation strategies.
