Open Access Policy
The Journal of Trees for Climate Adaptation (JTCA) is an open access journal dedicated to making research on climate adaptation, forestry, and environmental resilience freely available to a global audience.
We believe that open access publishing promotes equity in knowledge sharing, enhances visibility of research from all regions, and supports informed climate action across the Global South and beyond.
Open Access and Licensing
All JTCA articles are freely accessible online immediately upon publication.
We do not impose any subscription or access barriers for readers.
Unless otherwise stated, all content is published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits:
-
Free use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium;
-
Adaptation and reuse for any purpose, including commercial use;
provided that proper credit is given to the author(s) and the original source.
Copyright and Author Rights
Authors retain full copyright of their published work.
By submitting to JTCA, authors grant the journal the non-exclusive right to publish and disseminate the article under the CC BY 4.0 license. This ensures that authors maintain ownership while allowing broad accessibility and reuse of their research.
Archiving and Digital Preservation
All articles published by JTCA are archived in secure digital repositories to guarantee permanent access and preservation.
We partner with indexing services and open archiving platforms to ensure the visibility and longevity of all published content.
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version of their article in institutional repositories, personal websites, or any open-access database, provided that the published citation and DOI link to the official version on the JTCA website are included.
Ethical and Open Science Commitment
JTCA supports global efforts toward open science and transparent research practices.
We view open access not only as a publishing model but as a contribution to climate justice, knowledge equity, and sustainable development through unrestricted access to scientific knowledge.
Article Processing Charges (APCs)
To support the cost of high-quality open access publishing—including editorial management, peer review, production, and long-term digital preservation—JTCA applies a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) to submitted anuscripts.
