Article Processing Charge (APC)
The Journal of Trees for Climate Adaptation (JTCA) is committed to maintaining a fair and transparent open access publishing model that supports equitable participation from researchers worldwide. To cover the cost of editorial management, peer review, typesetting, and digital preservation, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied at the time of manuscript submission.
APC Amount
The standard APC is between USD 50 and 150 per submission. (Subject to change)
This fee is payable upon submission of a manuscript and is non-refundable, regardless of the final editorial decision.
Purpose of the APC
The APC supports the journal’s core publishing processes, including:

Manuscript handling and editorial coordination;

Peer review management and reviewer support;

Copyediting, layout, and DOI assignment;

Online hosting, indexing, and long-term digital preservation.
JTCA is an open access journal—no fees are charged to readers to access published content.
Waivers and Discounts
JTCA recognizes the financial challenges faced by some authors, particularly those from low- and middle-income countries or without institutional support.
We therefore offer:

Partial waivers or discounts for authors demonstrating financial hardship or early-career status.
Requests for fee waivers or reductions must be made at the time of submission, with a brief justification. Waiver decisions are made independently of the editorial review process and do not affect publication outcomes.
Waivers and Discounts are also offered to paid members & JTCA fellows.
