Remuneration Policy for Peer Reviewers and Auditors

At the Journal of Trees for Climate Adaptation (JTCA), we value the time and expertise contributed by our peer reviewers and external auditors. In recognition of their essential role in maintaining the journal’s academic quality and integrity, JTCA offers a modest honorarium based on the volume of work completed.

Honorarium Structure

The honorarium provided is a token of appreciation, not a salary or contractual payment.
For both peer reviewers and auditors, the amount is determined by the number of papers handled, ranging from USD 1 to USD $10 per paper. The exact amount may vary depending on factors such as the length of the manuscript, the complexity of the review, and the quality of feedback provided.

Payment Terms

Honoraria are processed quarterly or upon completion of assigned reviews and audits. Payments may be made through PayPal, mobile money, or other available channels, depending on regional accessibility.
To qualify for payment, reviewers and auditors must complete their assigned tasks in full and within the agreed timelines.

Additional Notes

All editorial and review work for JTCA remains voluntary in nature. The honorarium serves as a gesture of appreciation and not as an employment or consultancy fee.
JTCA reserves the right to adjust the honorarium scale periodically based on submission volumes, resource availability, and institutional policies.
